The successful candidate will work with all our news teams in the south of Scotland, also covering the Carrick Gazette, Galloway Gazette, Carluke and Lanark Gazette and Selkirk Weekend Advertiser.
He or she will be expected to source news stories for both print and digital platforms and must be comfortable working either on their own initiative or as part of a team.
He or she will be expected to play a key role in the development of our digital presence and should be confident in the use of Facebook and Twitter.
Some out-of-hours work in the evening and at weekends may be required.
A full driving licence is required, and completion of an NCTJ-accredited journalism course would be desirable.
